About Karen
I have been working in show business since 1980. I was the only female staff writer on M*A*S*H and the first female staff writer on Hill Street Blues. My other credits include: Moonlighting; Northern Exposure; Jericho; Judging Amy; The Good Wife; Brotherhood; The Glades; The Women of Brewster Place, and more. I have been nominated for 7 Emmys and 6 WGA Awards and have won a WGA Award and a Women in Film Luminas Award. I am a Peabody Awards Juror, which means that I am very current in what is on the air now.

Screenwriting is very complicated and I focus on making sure that you are not overwhelmed by what you need to learn. I break my classes into steps that are easy to comprehend and implement. I take it one element at a time: plot, character, dialogue, stage directions, etc. I also teach you how to avoid amateur mistakes that will keep your script from being read by potential buyers.
