About Paula

Hi there! I am Paula but my close friends call me Paulita. I am currently a Communication and Media Arts Student at USF.

I am originally from Venezuela, born and raised, I've lived in the Chicago area for about 5 years now.

Moving to Chicago has been such an adventure, I really love how diverse it is, all the great people I've had the chance to meet, and the not so great too. The winters here are ETERNAL but it's okay because I like wearing lots of layers anyways.

In general I'd consider myself a 35% extrovert, which I'd say it's pretty decent comparing me to myself a year ago.

Anyways, I am excited to meet positive individuals who are motivated to learn such an incredible language that will allow anyone to communicate with even more people!

About the lesson

Easy-to access course.

It usually consists of an open google sheets, which will stay open as we're practicing through live video. I would type and explain with different colors the order of the words as well as the phonetics. You have these sheets labeled per week. (Ex. Week 1-x, Week 2-x).

Once a week our class will focus on pronunciation and conversation. We’ll try to keep a conversation for a specific amount of time that will gradually change/increase as the course advances.

There will be specific days we’ll watch and listen to different Spanish accents, for about half time of the class.

By the end of the class we’ll usually discuss the difference of meaning in the same word but in a different country or some interesting facts about Spanish language and its different dialects.

At the end of the course I would like to have my students doing their own conversations, talking about specific topics, and having a better understanding of Spanish language usage, and cultural distinction.
