James helped me revise the British history section of my life in the uk test. With only one month to know and understand British history dating back from the Iron Age, James was able to help me learn everything in my learning style. He also helped me to develop ways of retaining the information I was studying which came in handy when remembering certain dates.

James canvin is an excting and extremely adaptable educator. His ability to understand the needs of young people allows him to tailor sessions to perfectly suit the specific young person. His passion for the subject shines through and this makes his teaching more engaging. His fun and friendly personality makes it very easy to build a trusting relationship, which when tutoring is imperative. With his vast experience working with young people James has acquired a brilliant set of techniques to problem solve many situations and does so with ease.

James Canvin taught me GCSE history and always made the sessions engaging and adaptive to the class. Using interactive activities, he would provide countless opportunities for the class to express opinions; in an environment that felt fun and safe. Although History can be very black and white, James Canvin allowed us to explore the grey, allowing us to strengthen understanding of topics and clarify misunderstandings. Overall, he is a very helpful teacher and is always willing to spare time to answer questions or provide guidance: traits which make the perfect tutor.

I have worked with James on a number of youth programmes and have been impressed by his leadership and wealth of knowledge. James communicates with young people in a way that makes them feel comfortable and listened to - he is committed to helping young people be the best they can be. James is professional, reliable, efficient and I could not recommend him highly enough!
