About Cassie
I am a graduated university history student. I am currently on the Dean's List, was an honours high school graduate and have graduated with distinction. I also have past experience working with children in a learning environment, as a created and lead a summer camp at a museum and have done past tutoring before in high school. Additionally, I have been tutoring students for 5 years, and two year of it through this app.

My teaching methods are about making school seem less stressful and teaching kids that learning can be fun. I like to go through a few examples together and then give students a chance to interact with the work on their own. I am also a believer in developing growth mindset in children, where I would congratulate students on their process and not the product. Having a brother with an IEP and ADHD, I know that sitting for long periods of time can make kids antsy, me included, so I like to include short breaks of movement to re-centre and recharge the brain. Its good not only for mental health, but it also helps academic performance. I also like to encourage children to set their own goals so that we can work together to complete them. Learning is about the process and should be less focus on simply completing work. The journey to the finish line is an adventure that students should take the time to appreciate and enjoy so that they can be more proud of everything they have accomplished and be confident in who they are as a person.
