About Evie
Hi, my name is Evie, I am currently a student at the University of Birmingham and have been a student for 16 years now, so I truly understand how difficult studying can be. My main focus as a tutor is to help you feel confident in yourself and your abilities to understand history and politics, and all that comes with it. My role is to assure you that you can do anything you put your mind to, even if it is hard, to support you through the things you find difficult and to cheer you when you undoubtedly succeed. I will provide lessons that focus on what you need, in a way that helps you understand, and will be fun and interactive, while also offering time to work on assignments and exams.

Lessons will typically be one hour per subject using a range of teaching techniques including inquiry-based, gamification and active-based learning. Students' questions, confidence and wants will be at the core of the lessons in order to best help them overcome, learn and enjoy history and politics as subjects. While I have no direct tutoring experience, I have a Bachelor's degree in History and Politics and am currently pursuing my Master's in the same field. I also have many years of experience working with young people. My lessons would be for A Level and Secondary School pupils, GCSE mainly, though I am open to assisting younger students.

The free first lesson with Evie allows you to get to know the tutor and discuss your needs and expectations.

Details
The free 30 minute lesson would be an introductory session in which we would meet and discuss the objectives, outcomes and aims of any future session, how the session would be run, if there was anything particular that would need to be accounted for or focused on. It is a session to get to know each other and to gain confidence and trust in this tutoring relationship to make sure that I am the best fit for the student's needs.
