About Chrystyna

I am a Hispanic studies and History graduate from the University of Nottingham.
I studied post A level Spanish and beginners Portuguese at University. I achieved a high 2.1.
I studied at two universities on my year abroad: the University of Zaragoza, Spain and the University of Coimbra, Portugal.
I am a friendly and bubbly individual who enjoys sharing my passions and interests.
I speak Ukrainian as a heritage language.
Fun fact: I also love music and achieved a distinction in grade eight singing before University (I also offer services teaching singing, tutoring Spanish and English on Superprof).

About the lesson

I am a highly flexible tutor and will teach each lesson according to the learners needs. I can aid those studying GCSE and A level History, using materials from the official exam boards. I achieved a high 2.1 in my degree and studied History A level and GCSE achieving A's in both. A lesson can be 30 minutes to an hour long.

Previous experience:
Spanish tutoring:
• Leading after school Spanish clubs in primary schools as a Language Guide, representing Speak Like a Native. I taught children aged 4-8 years old and learnt behavioural management skills and how to adapt lesson plans and teaching style to the learners needs. (September- December 2023)
• Tutoring A-level students for their upcoming exams as a Language Ambassador for the University of Nottingham, including advice on pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. (November-July 2020/21 and January-March 2023)
• Voluntarily tutored GCSE students for upcoming exams whilst studying for A levels and helped teachers in Spanish and History lessons at East Barnet School. (June 2018)

English teaching:
• Volunteering to tutor a Ukrainian individual on a weekly basis through the charity ENGin to improve her English. I intend to keep in touch with this individual, as we got on so well, and hope to visit her once the War against Russia has been won! (August 2023-June 2024)
• Preparing students, who were refugees and asylum seekers, for their upcoming IELTS exam with the British Red Cross as part of the Nottingham Advantage Award. I taught online on Microsoft teams with two other volunteers for six weeks. We prepared students for listening, reading, writing and speaking exercises as well as teaching grammar and running through mock tests. (February to March 2023)
