About Megan
I am an experienced drum tutor with 15 years of professional teaching experience, offering lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. Over the years, I have successfully taught around 150 students, helping them improve their rhythm, coordination, and overall musical ability. My teaching philosophy is based on patience, clarity, and steady progress. My tutoring approach focuses on understanding each student’s goals and learning style.
I design lessons that balance technical training with creativity, ensuring students build strong fundamentals while also enjoying the process. From basic beats and timing to advanced grooves, fills, and styles, I guide students step by step with structured lessons and regular feedback. A unique aspect of my teaching is my focus on practical learning. I use real songs, rhythm exercises, and performance-based practice to help students apply what they learn. I also teach proper technique, posture, and practice routines to prevent bad habits and improve long-term skill development.
My lessons encourage discipline, confidence, and independent practice. I create a positive and motivating learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Whether a student wants to learn drums for personal interest, live performance, or musical growth, I provide clear guidance and continuous support. My aim is to help every student enjoy drumming while achieving consistent improvement.

My drum teaching methodology is based on understanding, adaptability, and positive learning experiences. I strongly believe that each student has a unique way of learning. Therefore, I adapt my teaching style to suit visual, auditory, and hands-on learners. This ensures that students understand drum techniques clearly and apply them effectively.
Flexibility is a key strength of my lessons. I customize sessions according to the student’s pace and goals. Whether a beginner learning basic beats or an advanced student working on speed and coordination, I adjust the lesson structure to match their level. I also remain flexible with lesson plans, allowing room for revision and practice as needed.
Collaboration is encouraged throughout the learning process. I treat lessons as interactive sessions where students actively participate. I welcome feedback, discussions, and questions to make learning enjoyable and engaging. This helps build trust and improves learning outcomes.
A positive approach is essential in my classes. I motivate students through encouragement and patience. I help them overcome challenges by breaking complex rhythms into simple steps. This boosts confidence and reduces performance anxiety.
In addition to drums, I teach related subjects such as rhythm counting, basic music theory, hand and foot coordination, timing exercises, and practice techniques. These supporting subjects help students grow as disciplined and confident musicians.
