About Heidi
I am a highly dedicated educator. Most of my experience with teaching has been in the high school setting. I aspire to build the confidence of my students as they learn to write essays. Many times, I hear a student say, "they can't do this." I simply tell them, "yes, you can!" Then, I help provide the tools to help them become successful with their writing. I also teach reading to students that may otherwise struggle with reading. It is about regular and consistent practice with reading. I also teach skill sets and tricks to learn in order to become a better reader. Students need to build up their courage and confidence with reading, and I am here to help them do just that!

I am easy-going and patient. My lesson plans are clear-cut and easy to follow. They are also goal-oriented. Because each student is unique, I do not follow traditional lesson plan styles. I like to think outside of the box to help meet the needs of my students. If a student is not understanding material presented a certain way, it's time to change how the material is presented. My creativity and dedication set me apart from other tutors. I am certified K-12 and have 15 years experience with teaching language arts at all levels. High school is a specialty, but I am also prepared to help students obtaining their bachelor's degree. I am a published author and have experience writing both a Master's level paper in addition to my Doctoral Dissertation! Education is and always has been a passion of mine!
