I can describe myself as friendly, enthusiastic and respectful. As a teacher, we can easily get respect from the students if they would feel respected first. I am a teacher and here’s how my classes are different:
I do not assign gratuitous homework. My students have lives outside of school and, to the best of my ability, I respect that.
I do my utmost to make assignments relevant and interesting. Sometimes the content is mundane so I look for ways, especially humorous ways, to liven things up.
I do not teach subjects that do not interest me. If something is boring to me, it is very difficult to make it interesting to other people.
