About Kayla
I am a finance major at Georgetown University in the class of 2025. I went to high school at Newton North High School. This summer I will be interning at a large investment bank, and was hoping to tutor a few students before starting my internship. I believe that I will be able to relay all of the necessary tips and tricks for the ACT in 1-2 sessions. If I had known exactly what grammar is tested for on the English section, how to read passages/budget my time in the reading session, and what calculator tricks to use in the math session, I would have been able to shave many hours off of my ACT studying. I hope to relay these tricks so that you do not have to take as many practice tests as I did to succeed!

I self-studied for the ACT, and took over 40 practice tests to achieve my score on only my second test attempt. After tutoring my younger sister in the ACT math, reading, and English sections, I found a few tricks that helped her raise her score almost instantly.
This includes pattern recognition ACT questions across different tests tend to be the same/test the same few skills but are all worded differently), understanding exactly what grammar rules to know for the English section, tests for accurately completing the reading section quickly (I am a slow reader myself), and calculator tricks for the math section.
Students who score well on the ACT are not smarter than other students, they are simply more familiar with test-taking strategies, and I would be happy to share these skills with you so that you don't have to learn them by taking 40 practice tests like I did.
This tutoring is intended for students planning on taking the ACT.
