About Chandrabhan

I am a theater actor and a trained actor from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). My journey in acting has taught me that acting is not about pretending, delivering dialogues or showing emotions on command. It is about being present, listening, observing and responding truthfully.

Over the years, I have explored theater, performance and the discipline that an actor needs to develop. My own journey has made me realize that one of the most important things an actor can learn is how to truly listen and respond in the moment — without forcing a reaction or planning the next one.

That is why I want to introduce students to the Meisner Technique.

I want young actors to experience acting as something more than memorizing lines. Through Meisner-based exercises, students learn to listen deeply, respond naturally, trust their instincts, become comfortable with silence, connect with their scene partner and gradually let go of the fear of “performing correctly.” The aim is not to make every student act the same way, but to help each actor discover their own truthful and unique way of performing.

For me, teaching Meisner is also a way of sharing what I have learned through my own journey as an actor. I want students to build not only acting skills, but also confidence, awareness, imagination, discipline and the courage to be truthful.

Because ultimately, great acting isn’t about showing the audience that you are acting.

Acting is not about pretending to be someone else. It is about learning to truly listen, observe, respond and live truthfully in the moment. The Meisner Technique trains young actors to move beyond memorized lines and artificial expressions, and discover what it actually means to be present with another person. Through repetition, improvisation, emotional preparation and partner-based exercises, students learn how to listen without planning their next dialogue, react instinctively, build genuine emotional connection and make every performance feel spontaneous and believable. This technique helps actors break hesitation, develop confidence, sharpen their imagination and understand the psychology behind a character — so they are not simply performing a scene, but actually experiencing it. For young performers, Meisner is more than an acting method; it is a process of discovering how to be truthful, fearless and completely present — both on stage and in front of the camera.
