About Christine
I went to college in Michigan at Grand Valley State University. After graduating in 2012 I moved to North Carolina where I began my teaching career with Wake County Public Schools. I spent 11 years teaching self contained students on the extended content standards at the middle school level and 1 year at the high school level. Currently I am in my third year working at the middle school level supporting special needs students including the general education setting and teaching a decoding/encoding (spelling) class.

I use assessments to look at students ability to decode, read fluently comprehend, use vocabulary, and encode (spell). All of these skills go together and gaps in one affects the other. I have experience using paper based methods as well as technology in order to meet the needs of all students. My experience includes working with mostly middle school students with some working in elementary and high school.
