About Kris

I have been teaching ESL to all ages, as well as Business English for more than 20 years in both Canada and China. I also tutor in Language Arts and public speaking for native English speakers. I have a CELTA Certificate from Cambridge University. I have also taken the CELPIP teacher training course and have written my own CELPIP and IELTS training programs which I teach online.

About the lesson

Language is a skill, it is not something that should be studied like history or science where you are memorizing facts. To successfully raise language skill, just like improving at a sport, we must train and practice. In this way of thinking, we are not teacher and student, but coach and athlete. The coach writes a training program and the athlete follows it, along the way, the coach sees the athlete's strengths and weaknesses and adapts the program to suit the athlete's particular needs, This is how language is supposed to be taught, this is how I coach it, this is also why I am the last English coach you will ever need

Perfect! Kris had a way of showing me what I needed to do to get a better score. He explained what I needed and also gave applicable writing skills which I was able to use during my exam and excel in the test. I have been struggling to get a 7 in writing and was able to get a 7.5 in my last test. I would recommend a session with Kris before attempting the IELTS. I wish I knew this earlier before having to write my IELTS twice in the last two months.

Perfect! Kris is an amazing teacher!! His instruction is very clear and he gives me study tip materials. Kris is the best IELTS teacher that can give you IELTS speaking assessment, tell where your weaknesses points are and exact expected score in the real exam based on your level. His speaking assement can help more than you can imagine. Moreover, being a native English speaker he can teach you a lot in terms of English langauge, which will really help you to sound natural during the exam.
Finally, he is very supportive, helpful and kind to all of his students. Whenever you send him a question regarding IELTS or English langauge he will immediately reply to you even one year after the course.
What I really like about kris is that his approach of teaching is based on helping the students to develop diffrent skills themselves by advising the right techinque to do that.
Finally, there is one point I need to highlight your score depends on your English language background and your hardwork. Neither kris nor any teacher on earth can guarantee the band without these two. But definitely selecting the right teacher can help.

1) When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I've been teaching ESL and IELTS since nearly 20 years ago, when I first went to China to teach. What has driven me to the top of my field and kept me passionate about my work is meeting all the inspiring people who contact me to help them succeed in their plans for the future. Seeing the passion these people have to make their dreams come true inspires me to be the best I can be too, in order to serve them.

I've been lucky enough to have many inspiring teachers throughout both my careers as a student and as a teacher, but the lesson that they all had in common was that to be successful, we must care about what we are doing, and care about the people and the world around us. Then we must work smart as well as hard to ensure our dreams come true. By working together, we can help make the world a better place.
