About Justin
I first started taking lessons at the Niagara Conservatory of Music in my home province of Ontario at age 12, and subsequently studied there for 5 years, studying the Royal conservatorys percussion repertoire and spending a lot of my years here studying very rudimental/orchestral playing. At 16, while also starting to play in rock and metal bands, and getting experience playing my first shows, I started teaching, and in the current day have built a repertoire of 25+ in-person students! After high school, I briefly attended Humber College of music, where in my short time I got to meet and study with drum educator geniuses Mark Kelso and Marino Marques! These two really helped shape my playing, and my passion and style for teaching myself. Through what I’ve learned from them, I’ve been able to practise and learn a range of different styles, and have been lucky to play gigs with musicians of various musical backgrounds and styles, greatly expanding my musical horizons. From this knowledge and my experience, I’ve spent a lot of time perfecting my teaching methods and styles, and do my absolute best to be a teacher that takes the time to understand you, and work with you in whatever way you learn.

I’ve been playing the drums for over 10 years of my life, and teaching for just over 5. I’ve had a lot of time and experience to hone my teaching style, and am sure I can help anyone advance their playing regardless of skill level, from beginners to advanced! During this time I’ve also gotten to chance to play lots of different styles on the stage! From jazz, R&B, country and metal, I’m confident know matter what style or skill you wish to learn, I can help you get there!
