About Valentina
Hello. I'm an Italian mother tongue teacher. I come from the north of Italy, from a small town called Trento.
Here in Edinburgh I provide the following services:
-private lessons to adults and children, in presence and online;
-lessons in groups to adults and children, in presence and online; -proofreading;
-15-minute online reading meetings accompanied by comprehension exercises, for adults and children;
-geography and history courses in Italian for those who want to broaden their specific vocabulary or plan to attend university courses in Italy.
Experiences:
-I work for the charity Girotondo Italian School (Edinburgh) as a teacher for children. This is my 10th year;
-For the Girotondo I also hold the role of teacher coordinator and admin;
-Private tutor for children, teenagers, young adults, adults and elderlies;
-In Italy I have worked for 5 years for the Italian State School. I have taught Italian language, history and geography to teenagers from 11 to 14 years old and I have worked as tutor for two years for a 7 years old child and a 11 years old girl helping them with their homework.
Qualifications:
-My graduation is in History and Critic of Arts, but the curriculum includes exams of Italian language and literature, history and geography and it permits to teach these subjects in the State School;
-Cedils Certification (an Italian document issued by Ca' Foscari University of Venice which certifies competence in teaching Italian to foreigners);
-TIAFL certificate (a documents issued following a course by Italian Language Courses Institute of London that certifies competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language) .
-PVG: I'm registered in the PVG scheme.
Please note that I don't teach to children under P2.

Valentina has just started tutoring my daughter for IB Italian Ab Initio. It is amazing how much more confident my daughter has become about her Italian after only 4 or 5 lessons with Valentina. Valentina is always punctual and has a very patient and focussed approach to her tutoring. Thank you Valentina!
Valentina teaches Italian to my 2 bilingual children aged 7 and 4. She has a lovely manner and prepares very well for each session. She also manages to come up with creative ideas to make sure both children are engaged. Her lessons are fun but also have a high educational content.
