About Gonzalo
Guitarist, jazz player, composer and teacher at the "Escuela Superior de Jazz" in the guitar chair (Directed by Christian Gálvez). He studied at the Modern School of Music and has a degree from the University of the Americas. He studied jazz with the teachers Jorge Díaz in Chile, Marcelo Gutfraind, Juan Pablo Arredondo, Carlos Lastra in Argentina, Jorge Luis Chicoy and Orlando Sanchez in Cuba. His career has been developed in Latin American countries and Cuba. Highlighting his participation in: International Jazz Week in Patagonia Chile 2015. Django Fest Colombia 2015 Festival. Master classes in "Studio Ensambe Colombia" 2015 and 2017. Gonzalo Ostornol Quartet "Pucón Jazz Tour 2016". 3rd International Festival Thelonious Chile "2016. In 2017 it made a Latin American tour, appearing in Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. Sofar Sound 2018: Invite Flash Trio. Flash Trio:" X International Festival Django Reinhardt Chile 2018 " . Audiovisual recording, live concert in Espacio Yungay studio. Flash Trio in "XVII International Festival Django Reinhardth Argentina 2019". It is awarded as responsible, the contest of the Chilean government, Fondart. He released the album Obturador (2019) together with Flash Trío, available on Spotify and released on YouTube. He is currently in Chile dedicated to teaching in a private way and in ESJAZZ.

I have had great music teachers who have influenced my way of teaching, I rescue the best of them and, from my own experience as a student and teacher, I propose a personal teaching style. (See Biography) I have more than 14 years of teaching experience, currently I work at the "Higher School of Jazz" in the guitar chair and in private and home classes. Classes are given from a didactic and creative space, exploiting playfulness, improvisation and the development of new skills. Classes are adapted to the needs of each student, in this framework one of the main objectives is to guide the student in learning his instrument, giving him tools that help him understand specific rules that allow him to develop his musical interests.
