About Marc

In 2019 I worked for StudentsPlus for 3 months as an English tutor. However, I am better at Spanish than English. I studied for three years at the ITV Hogeschool in Utrecht to become translator Spanish-Dutch. During this education I also had grammar lessons and translated from Dutch into Spanish. So I am familiar with translating, reading, writing and grammar of Spanish. I have no trouble with the pronunciation either. I am now working as a sworn freelance translator Spanish-Dutch

About the lesson

I try to convey my passion for the Spanish language to my students, making them lay connections with the English language, which has a lot in common with Spanish in terms of vocabulary. I myself have experienced this as a great aid. In this way I try to make the tutoring fun for students. An option is, for example, to have them look up and read a Spanish news item or article from their knowledge of the English language in order to familiarize them with the Spanish vocabulary. I myself mainly learned Spanish by reading many articles. It is valuable to analyze such an article during the lesson and make students aware of Spanish grammar: why is this time used here, what is the difference between this and that mood, what does this word mean, etc., depending on level. However, I try to look at the personal needs of each student: not everyone will master a language in the same way.

Details

Within a radius of 5 kilometres I use the bicycle, so there are no travel costs. For the present, education will take place online, so all that time there will not be involved any costs. If a pupil has a backlog and therefore needs many (5 or more) additional lessons, I am willing to ask for that a rate of 15,- an hour, provided the pupil indicates in advance he/she really needs those lessons.
