About Jisheng

I am an experienced and passionate Chinese Language educator with over 25 years of teaching experience in Singapore, including 16 years as an MOE Chinese Language Teacher. I hold a Ph.D. in Linguistics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from NIE, as well as extensive experience teaching students from preschool to secondary school in both local and international school settings.

I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping students learn, grow, and achieve their potential. Over the years, I have seen how the right guidance, encouragement, and teaching strategies can transform a student's confidence and academic performance. I find great satisfaction in helping students overcome their learning difficulties, improve their Chinese Language skills, and achieve better results in their PSLE and GCE O-Level examinations.

My goal is not only to help students obtain higher grades, but also to help them become more confident, motivated, and interested in learning Chinese. I believe that every student can make progress when given patient guidance, personalized support, and the right learning strategies.

About the lesson

My personal approach to private tuition is student-centred, personalised, and results-oriented. I believe that every student has different learning needs, strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. Therefore, I first identify each student's specific learning gaps and then design lessons and learning strategies that are appropriate for the individual student.

With my extensive experience teaching Chinese Language, I can provide targeted support in areas such as composition writing, comprehension, oral communication, listening comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar. I am also highly familiar with the PSLE and GCE O-Level Chinese examination formats and can teach students effective examination strategies and answering techniques.

My approach helps students to build a stronger foundation, improve their confidence, and make steady academic progress. I provide clear explanations, structured practice, constructive feedback, and positive encouragement. For weaker students, I help them overcome difficulties step by step; for stronger students, I challenge them to reach higher levels of achievement.

Through personalised tuition, students can receive the individual attention and support that may not always be possible in a large classroom. My goal is not only to help students achieve better grades, but also to develop their confidence, motivation, and genuine interest in learning Chinese.
