About Connor

Hello! My name is Connor and I have a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular biology. I currently work in a lab where I mimic the digestion process of the human body on samples to test the fiber content of different foods. This requires a skilled chemist who has an understanding of enzymatic pathways and chemical interactions. I am also on my way to perusing my PhD in Biochemistry at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. There are many areas of science that are intertwined but I would argue that chemistry and biology are the most connected out of all. Once the chemistry is understood, the biology aspect comes easier. My main goal is to make your classes make sense and to also get you excited about what you are learning. Remember, YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS!

About the lesson

I know the world of biology can be quite confusing at times, that is why I will be here for you, to clear the air and make your subject matter make sense!
My teaching plan:
Biology can be like a puzzle that also tells a story. There are so many things that are inter connected that it gets quite confusing. My plan is to go over course material explaining the processes we see to help clarify any confusion. Once we are a bit more clear on what the subject matter is, I will create assignments to get you thinking like a real scientist! I also have many websites that we can work on where you get virtual hands on experiments working with the concepts you are learning, sometimes to truly understand you have to do it yourself (even if it is on a computer). Lastly I would like my students to try and reteach me what they have learned so there is no doubt that we have achieved our goals!
