About Ryan
Renowned for his dual expertise as a composer and pianist, Ryan Brechmacher emerges as a compelling figure in contemporary classical music. His compositions, including the luminous "Endless Light," the enchanting "A Winter's Tale," and the groundbreaking "Quartet for Four Pianos," showcase his exceptional talent and profound musical insight. Brechmacher's compositional journey is marked by accolades and recognition, attesting to the profound impact of his musical vision. Noteworthy among his achievements is the distinguished honor of being named the 2015 New Jersey Music Teachers Association's Commissioned Composer of the Year and receiving awards from the Toledo Symphony League and the Cincinnati Children's Choir. His compositions have been commissioned and performed by esteemed ensembles worldwide, captivating audiences with their emotive depth and intricate craftsmanship. As an esteemed pianist, he has captivated audiences at the Newman Center for Performing Arts in Denver, the Cathedral of St. Andrew and Kawaiaha'o Church in Honolulu, Haydnkirche in Vienna, Andräkirche in Salzburg, St. Michel in Hamburg, Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, Verizon Hall at Kimmel Center, Belfast Cathedral Church of St. Anne in Belfast, St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, Sant'Agnese in Agone, and Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio di Loyola in Rome, and Dvorak Hall in Prague. -I am an experienced AP Music Theory instructor (16 years!) -I am comfortable teaching beginners to college-level students -I am a kind and caring teacher who meets the student where they are in their musical journey -Through individualized lessons and learning plans, we can explore concepts ranging from beginner (note-reading) to advanced (12-tone serialism). -We can also work on exploring music composition in lessons. -As a pianist, I can also offer help with piano studies.
