About Evie
I'm a recent graduate of Linguistics who wrote a Master's Thesis about the conflation of mental illness with the mass shooting crisis in news coverage of mass shootings. I'm interested in writing on this topic in my own journalistic career, as well as computer science and watching sports.

Depending on the student's interests, I'd like to start with either music or news from the Spanish speaking world. I can talk with decent command about certain Spanish constructions that give English speakers in particular trouble, such as Preterite vs Imperfect and eliminating non-Native sounds that contribute to the "gringo" accent.
