About Samuel
I taught at Coleg Gwent in 2022-2023 as part of my work towards achieving my PGCE in post-compulsory education. I also have experience teaching as an MA student with modules focussing specifically at teaching creative writing in an academic setting.
Writing for me has always been a necessary form of expression. Through the function of the narrative, we are able to explore possibility and imagination in a way that people find engaging and immersive. Also, it's a ton of fun! What more reason do we need?
My writing has spanned from fantasy novels to realist short-fiction to speculative fantasy. Immersing myself in this craft has been one of the most fulfilling decisions of my life and being able to share that as a tutor is a privilege I enjoy endlessly.

Creative writing is an excellent way to turn expression into a skillset you can apply to a variety of areas.
I am an MA student in creative writing with a PGCE in teaching post-compulsory education in the UK. My teaching methods involve an approach that combines a constructive workshop methodology with subject specific lessons on the areas that will take your writing to the professional level.
In our lessons, we will look at the fundamentals of narrative structure alongside insights into the publishing industry, multimedia narratives and commercial expectations. Most importantly, our lessons will focus on your writing and how we can use genre and critical reading to enhance what writing means to you.
