About Sarah
A bit about me and my experience: I have been (and still am!) a student; I know how overwhelming some of these topics can get, and how much of a difference having the right support makes. My goal as a tutor is to not only help you meet your academic goals, but to help you really understand the material and give you personalized study skills that will benefit you far beyond the final exam. My heart is in biology (and Chemistry because it's the foundation of all life!), so I am excited to extend my passion to you. It is important to me that learning is motivating, so I will always aim to teach in a way that *clicks* even if this subject isn't your thing. My goal with my degree in Molecular biology is to conduct research and teach, so by having the opportunity to support you, you are also supporting me with building my teaching foundation. Outside of academic related pursuits, I am a lifestyle triathlete, a big fan of outdoor adventures, a nature and animal lover, and I also enjoy history, music, and art.

Not everyone learns the same but that doesn't mean that not everyone can succeed in (often complex) topics such as neuroscience and biology. My tutoring method involves first helping you identify your academic goals, learning style, and break down and establish habits that work for *you* to be consistent and motivated with your studies. Plus! My style is quality over quantity and consistency over cramming. I can help you find success in your studies *even with* a busy schedule with sports or other commitments. I can help with tackling specific problems, understanding topics, creating personalized study strategies, and with test prep. My knowledge in chemistry, neuroscience, and biology is supportive for all levels up to college intro courses. However in biology I can support with some more advanced topics. Topic examples: - General biology, cell biology, microbiology, genetic engineering, intro to neurology. - General chemistry. - High school sciences

Perfect! Sarah is super sweet and helpful. She made sure everything I needed was covered and provided me with lots of resources for studying.
- Carmen is great! She’s a super on-it student. Incredibly intelligent with a fantastic work ethic. She was fun and friendly to work with!Sarah's response :
Perfect! Every session with Sarah is a dendritic party, my neurons roll up with an inflatable bouncy castle just for my synapses. I feel the plasticity working overtime, pumping my neurons to fire at absolute peak potential. No inhibitory vibes allowed : only full-on excitatory fireworks.
If you need a dopamine boost to find some solid ERP(easy, relatable pteachhing (yes, pteachhing because she’s positively charged with power)), you’ve found the right tutor.
Sarah is literally the Nodes of Ranvier of tutoring, she covers just enough at each checkpoint to let you saltatorily skip right to the good stuff without missing a beat.- Micheal is a BLAST to work with! He asks AMAZING questions, brings up great ideas, and has wonderful insight into Neuroscience. We've had amazing lessons covering topics in Biology, Genetics, and Neuroscience and there has been not a single dull moment. Always creative, always fun. Micheal is the embodiment of curious learning for the joy of it. He brings a playful spirit to each lesson, and frequently surprises me. Micheal has expanded my own understanding in Neuroscience topics by bringing in great concepts and research papers to our lessons. I couldn't ask for a better student on SuperProf, our lessons are a highlight in my week.Sarah's response :

Sarah is my friend, so I obviously am biased to say she's an awesome person. But also, Sarah literally saved my grade for both my Evolution and Biodiversity, and Genetics classes.
For me heredity is so complicated, and the whole "genetic tree" and evolution thing with traits getting passed down/ old species new species... I was all confused.
But I asked Sarah for help and she broke down the concepts and helped me grasp what wasn't clicking, she didn't get frustrated and was SO patient. And guess what? She made it make sense!
Plus, her passion for biology is so contagious—she made made the material feel interesting, it was more than just a lecture and practice.
Thanks to her, I gained way more confidence in these subjects, and my grade definitely improved. If you’re looking for a tutor who knows their stuff, is easy to talk to, and actually makes tough topics understandable, I can’t recommend Sarah enough!I can 100% recommend Sarah as a tutor. I am a bio girly, I like Ecology, but Cell Biology was NOT clicking for me so I asked Sarah for help.
She was able to simply the subject so easily for me and she even made me feel actually interested in my class again because I finally understood and could visualize what my prof. was lecturing about.
I am proud to say, I understand the electron transport chain.
I def got more out of my class with Sarah's help. If you’re looking for a tutor who can help you pass and grasp your biology courses, look no further.See more recommendations
