About Amos
I am an enthusiastic and engaging history tutor, and have studied the subject at GCSE, A level and university. I have tutored part-time throughout the last three years. I am friendly and direct in my teaching style, and enjoy seeing my students succeed.
As a recent graduate, I am all too aware of the frustrations students at GCSE and A level can feel when confronted with often confusing exam board mark schemes. I adopt a straightforward approach when dealing with exams, focusing on helping students find the most efficient and effective methods of hitting as many mark points as possible.
The university application process is one of the most stressful and important parts of a student's penultimate school year. Having received offers from the universities of Oxford, St. Andrews, Edinburgh and York, I know what it takes to craft an excellent personal statement, and how to approach potential interviews.

I have graduated this year with a BA from the University of Oxford, and have volunteered as a tutor for the past three years, mentoring students with coursework, exams, and university applications. I can help you or your child get to grips with History at any stage of their academic journey, and give targeted mentoring to assist with upcoming exams (GCSE and A-level) and University applications.
I am a friendly and enthusiastic teacher who focuses on helping my students engage with their subject, adapting the Oxford tutorial system to provide small lessons for between one to three students. In my classes I do not just provide students with understandable and concise breakdowns of their topics, but consistently focus on actively engaging them in their own learning by encouraging discussion and questioning of the subjects covered.
My lessons generally run from 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the student's needs.
All my lessons are online.
