About Harriet
As someone who loved History but struggled with it at school I want to provide a more accessible way of pursuing it. Reaching university opens up your world to the masses of routes you can take with learning about your favourite historical events, people, and periods. However, History at secondary school, especially during GCSEs, puts so many people off because it is repetitive and generic. If History is what you love but you just have not found a way to smash those exams yet, believe me I have been there. Once I had figured it out though, it was worth it. As a result I have had free rein to explore what I want to learn about.

I am a flexible and relaxed tutor offering online lessons lasting an hour for students between the ages of 14 and 18. I studied History for GCSE and A-Level and have been studying it at university for four years. Working with primary sources has become second nature to me, but it did not start out this way. I believe the best way to start is by using past papers and breaking them down together. This is especially helpful with primary sources. For essay questions, though it may sound boring, having a solid plan is key. Together we will go through previously used primary sources and create plans to use for the exam. This may seem basic but it works. Also, it is the simplest way to remember your facts amongst all the other revision that piles up.
