# **Creative Writing Mini-Lesson**
**Age Group:** 12-24
**Duration:** 45-60 minutes
Objective:
Students will explore creative writing techniques and develop their storytelling skills.
**Lesson Structure:**
1. **Warm-Up (10 min) – Freewriting Exercise**
- Prompt: “Write for five minutes without stopping about a recent dream or memory.”
- Encourage writing without overthinking.
2. **Discussion (10 min) – Key Elements of Storytelling**
- Briefly cover **character, setting, conflict, and voice** with examples.
3. **Writing Activity (20 min) – Prompt-Based Storytelling**
- Provide three random words or a sentence starter (e.g., “The door creaked open, revealing...”).
- Students write a short scene incorporating them.
4. **Sharing & Reflection (10 min)**
- Pair up for feedback.
- Discuss what they learned or found challenging.
