About Mary
I started tutoring introductory chemistry when I was still earning my Associate of Science degree at Pellissippi State in 2008. I found it to be extremely rewarding work and continued with the occupation post-graduation. Through the years, I learned to tutor additional chemistry courses as I completed them, the most recent one being the first course of the organic chemistry sequence in 2017.

I review the students' notes with them to assess their understanding and work practice problems with them until they grasp the concepts being taught. I do this with a patient and encouraging manner that has achieved consistently good results.
For 14 years I've tutored college students taking introductory general chemistry and the course sequence for pre-professional degrees. For the past five years, I've also tutored the first course in the sequence for organic chemistry. I think this knowledge and experience could transition easily to tutoring chemistry at the high school level, as well.
For now, I primarily tutor via internet using Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
