About Kirsten

I am a graduate of a public health course in college, so I've spent years grasping a wide array of scientific topics and lessons.

Throughout those years, I learned that I loved physiology a lot! Given that, I spent the majority of my college life teaching my peers about physiology as well as biochemistry, and though those were difficult subjects to grasp for everyone, I've learned to appreciate their complexity and the beauty of their systems!

With teaching, I realized that I wanted to share my appreciation for the sciences and help others while doing so. I do hope that with this, I will be able to help you improve your understanding of these science topics as well as gain newfound appreciation to help your learning!

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centered, structured, and focused on understanding, not memorization because learning is about appreciating the application!

I adapt each lesson to the student’s level and learning style, breaking down complex science topics into clear, manageable explanations.

I like to use visuals, diagrams, and real-life examples to help students grasp difficult concepts like biochemistry, physiology, etc. I regularly check for understanding and encourage questions to build confidence.

A typical lesson would be:
> Quick check-in on goals or problem areas
> Clear explanation of key concepts
> Guided practice or example questions
> Short recap and next steps

Of course, these can be changed according to your style and what best suits you!

My tutoring is essentially for high school science students, senior high / STEM students, and college students studying biochemistry, physiology, or related sciences. But of course, if you're simply interested in general sciences, I'd be glad to help!

All in all, my tutoring is tailored to each student’s goals, whether it’s exam preparation, concept clarification, or improving overall confidence in science because science is meant to be understood and appreciated.
