About Katie
I am a 2021 graduate from Durham University who studied modern languages and cultures, specifically Spanish. I have spent 6 months in Cuba and Argentina for my year abroad which really enhanced my passion and learning of the language. I think Spanish is an important language in the global environment and whether you're learning it in or out of school it is a valuable skill to have.

Lesson Outline:
The first lesson will be used to assess what level the student is at and what can be improved upon.
From key stage 1 to A level I will use the structure of the school Spanish curriculum to serve as a guideline of what to teach to achieve the best grades possible. However, I will also include materials that may not be used in class such as film or podcasts to vary the learning a bit to keep it as interesting as possible. Seeing as I have done GCSE Spanish and IB Spanish I know what the examiners are looking for to get a high grade as well as a student perspective.
For classes outside of the school curriculum such as conversational Spanish, the lesson plan will be more fluid and focused on the practicality of the Language.
I tutored a GCSE student from Nov 2020- May 2021 improving their confidence with the language. I have worked as an Au Pair in Spain teaching two children English. I also taught after school workshops in Spanish to children in Argentina.
I have experience with the exam boards that I took for GCSE and International Baccalaureate, it is important to know exactly what the exam boards are expecting and looking for when tutoring GCSE and sixth form students as this will greatly influence the grade they can achieve.
