About Ammal
I was born and raised in the United States, while my family is originally from the Middle East. Growing up between these two cultures has shaped me into someone who is both curious and deeply understanding of the diverse backgrounds people come from—and the different ways they learn and grow. My studies in Philosophy and Criminology have naturally aligned with these experiences and have played a significant role in shaping who I am today. Philosophy, with its emphasis on extensive reading, writing, and critical thinking, was challenging—especially as the child of immigrant parents whose first language was not English. Yet, those challenges strengthened me and helped me become a strong, confident reader and writer. Criminology, in its own way, expanded my understanding of life. Although many view it as a study focused solely on the justice system, it ultimately connects to human behavior, society, and the search for meaning. Together, these influences—my cultural background and my academic journey—have shaped my perspective, strengthened my communication skills, and deepened my appreciation for the many paths people take in learning and in life.

I am a detail-oriented educator whose background in Philosophy and Criminology has shaped the way I approach learning, communication, and personal growth. These fields taught me to look beyond words and consider deeper meaning, which has strengthened both my writing and my ability to connect with students. I enjoy challenging myself and encouraging my students to do the same, helping them uncover the talents and confidence they may not yet see in themselves.
As a bilingual speaker of Arabic and English, I value the diversity of learners and understand that each person grows at their own pace. This perspective guides me in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels capable and motivated to succeed.
