Stella has been my best mate for over 5yrs now, so take it from me, she has all the qualities you’d wish for in an English tutor. She’s innately insightful and analytical, with a metamorphic ability to transfer her skills across both fiction and non-fiction texts.
For my GCSEs, she was the catalyst in converting my babbling ideas into cohesive and convincing arguments, that examiners love to read. More importantly, she fostered my love for literature, which otherwise, I thought was extremely uncool!
However, I think it’s more valuable that Stella’s academic credentials do not determine her attitude towards her students. She’s attentive, patient, and kind (that’s a power of three; Stella taught me that!!) , and her thirst for knowledge is exacerbated by her eager students.
No idea is a bad idea around her, and actually, she’d be fascinated by what you have to say!
Stella has experience of teaching in two continents, Europe and Asia; in both she captured and inspired the interest of her classes. Going intercontinental to spread your love of English? That’s testament to her character.
I wish my English teacher was as facilitating as Stella; I think I would’ve appreciated the complexity of the English language sooner.
