About Caroline

Hello! My name is Caroline and in short, I am a queer, feminist Irish actor currently living in London. I moved to London in September of 2021, after completing my BA in Drama Performance in Dublin to study an MA in Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Peckham. While studying at Mountview, I would love to help my peers with their various Acting Through Song and monologue assignments; it helped me rediscover my love for teaching. I find that, though obviously skills and techniques are important to finding your individual acting style, what's even more important is having the confidence in yourself to brave the nerves and believe you can do it! I love helping people find that within themselves. Now, as we enter into the new year, I would once again like to focus on my passion for teaching and passing on the wealth of knowledge and experience to people looking to go down the same paths as I did and to help them blaze their own trails. I am a huge people person and really want to get to know my clients so that we can discover how best for them to get what they want from me.

About the lesson

As a graduate with a BA in Drama and an MA in Musical Theatre, I have a wealth of experience with various singing and acting techniques, and having worked with so many different creatives, I have a great understanding of how some techniques work really well for some individuals and not for others. I believe in finding the right technique for each student so that they can feel completely confident in their work. Confidence building is a key part of my teaching methodology as I think it is the most important asset for a career in the performing arts. My lessons typically last around 40 minutes, giving us enough time to study 1-2 songs/monologues per lesson, with time to ask questions and talk to the student about what they want to achieve from their time with me. I have vast experience teaching drama and performing arts. I have taught drama at various summer camps in both Massachusetts and Ireland to children ranging between 4-16 years. I have also been a choir director and musical director for different projects throughout my time in university. I am aiming my Audition Technique lessons at teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 who wish to go on and study drama/singing/musical theatre at a college level and would like to gain more experience and be advised about the industry they're going into. My Acting Through Song classes are for students of all ages who would like to sharpen their musical theatre skills, be they in the industry or looking to enter it. I find the Acting Through Song skill a hard one to master that could always use more practice and that can sometimes be forgotten.
