About Brian
As an undergraduate, I was inspired by the organic chemistry professors at my university who served not only as my teachers but also as mentors. Because of them, I pursued a graduate education in chemistry so that I could one day become a mentor like them. I believe that most people who claim to not like chemistry simply had a poor teacher who either did not have the time or energy to ensure a quality education for their students and I hope to change that narrative for my students. I have three years of experience teaching general and organic chemistry courses and I believe that my teaching methods have been received well by my students according to direct interaction and surveys.

When I teach I am very communicative and prefer to ask students leading questions. I have found this method works very well for students who have a desire to success and just need a little assistance to get them there. I like to walk through lessons and materials with the student to ensure they are engaged and understanding each sentiment because chemistry education constantly builds on itself and it is vital to take lessons one step at a time.
Between earning my B.S. and my M.S., I taught at a community college and at two state universities which has given me experience with students from all different backgrounds and experiences with chemistry. I am very comfortable with most chemistry at the undergraduate freshman and sophomore level, as well as organic chemistry as high up to graduate level.
