About Izzy
Hi! I’m a passionate English Literature student with a genuine love for the subject, and I’m excited to help GCSE students become more confident in their English.
I achieved a Grade 9 in English Literature and a Grade 7 in English Language at GCSE, and I’m now continuing to study English Literature at A Level. Having recently completed my own GCSEs, I understand how overwhelming exams can feel, especially when you’re aiming for the highest grades.
My aim is to make lessons enjoyable, relaxed and genuinely useful. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking their time to understand things, rather than feeling pressured. I’ll tailor each lesson to what you personally need, whether that’s essay writing, exam technique, analysing texts or simply building confidence.
I’m friendly, patient and committed to helping you reach your goals while making English feel a little less stressful!

My lessons are specifically tailored towards students aged 14–16 who are completing their GCSEs and aiming for top grades. Through my deep passion for English, I aim to motivate and encourage students to learn and practise without the extreme pressure or tediousness that can sometimes come with revision.
Lessons can range from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on what best suits each student’s needs and focus. If needed, we can also take short breaks throughout the lesson to help maintain concentration and make learning feel more manageable.
As a student who achieved a Grade 9 in English Literature and a Grade 7 in English Language, and who has since gone on to study English Literature at a higher level, I understand both the challenges and expectations that come with GCSE English. My goal is not only to provide effective teaching, but to help students develop a more positive and confident outlook towards English and support them throughout their GCSE journey.
