I used to be very shy, and even speaking my native language, Mandarin, people disliked my accent and found me inarticulate. I was a conversation killer; people lost interest after I spoke. But now, I am fluent in four languages (Mandarin, Zhuang, Cantonese, and English), a social expert with friends all over China and abroad, and I switch effortlessly between Chinese and English.
