About Emily
I have a First Class degree in BSc Biomedical Science at the University of Kent and I gained a Distinction and Masters in Biomedicine. I took part in the Buddy Scheme during the second year of Uni where I taught first year students who found certain areas of Biomedical Science challenging. Before this, I achieved an A in GCSE Biology and Chemistry; both topics that I pursued at A Level.
I spent 6 months in the University of California, Santa Barbara, and observed alternative methods of teaching and assessment which allowed more awareness to different styles of education.
I believe teaching should be inclusive, challenging and more importantly fun! I shall offer guidance regarding revision tips, exam preparation and how to develop skills which will aid you to achieve the best of your academic ability.

My method of teaching focuses on visual aids and step-by-step explanations of key scientific topics. A brief introduction shall be presented at the beginning of each session, and gradually, knowledge shall be funnelled down and expanded into greater detail which shall accommodate the learner. By the end of the session, I shall offer practice exam-style questions/ quizzes which will further solidify understanding, application and confidence in the material.
Microsoft Powerpoint will be the main programme utilised throughout teaching. (with links to informative videos and Q&As)
