About Ben

My name is Ben I’m an 18-year-old student. My qualifications to teach history come from my A level and GCSE results in which I received an A* and a 9 respectively. I used the techniques that I have mentioned to achieve these grades as when it comes to revision before exams I was able to easily access my notes which were in an accessible manner and the spaced learning allowed me to break content into manageable pieces and succeed.

About the lesson

Upon enquiry on your problem I will prepare dynamic 30-60 minute lessons for you to engage with the content that you struggle with in an attempt to break the mould. I will prepare PowerPoints and have a range of resources to support you through learning. If something isn’t working for you we can work together to alter the tutoring so you can achieve the highest grade you can. I’m a big believer in structured note-taking as in I provide a handout with sections for you to fill in. I am also a fan of dual coding which is mixing pictures and different source material into notes so that they stick in one’s brain. Finally, I would start each lesson with a recap quiz as spaced learning from one lesson to the next embeds details and knowledge into long-term memory and practices drawing information from the long term into active memory. This allows students to have information on hand quicker in exams. I will tutor GCSE, KS3 and KS2 for UK students.
