About Kristina
I love learning, and I want my students to feel the same. I worked as a music tutor for over a year before shifting to math tutoring recently and I've thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it so far. In my learning journey, I've hit the highs (3 years ahead of my age) but I've had some lows too (almost a year behind) so I understand the struggle. I've been there. Which is why I want to see my students grow, without the crushing pressure of needing to be ahead, and without the failing feeling of being behind. I love working with young children and it brings me joy to be able to help them understand and see their faces when a concept finally clicks and they start scribbling down their answers. I was homeschooled up until year 11, gaining excellence in mathematics, with high praise from my NCEA math teacher, all while already working part-time.

Everyone has a different learning style and pace, with clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and personalized tutoring to suit the specific learning needs of the student, I’ll be there to answer all the questions and help the student grow understanding and confidence in the subject. I teach mathematics up to year 9, focusing on younger students, building a strong base understanding to help now and for years to come. My aim is to make math not only understandable, but enjoyable, for the student to grow a passion and deeper understanding of the subject. I focus on strengthening the basic core concepts, that make everything else fall into place so much easier, teaching tips and tricks that once they understand, will keep serving them for years. I try to make my lessons as engaging and fun as possible, incorporating learning games and rewards, while maintaining balance in making sure the student is learning at their own pace, using clear explanations, giving examples, asking questions and then adding a quick quiz, making sure they understand the concepts before moving onto the next section.
