About Aimee-Louise

I am a keen and passionate linguist with full QTS to teach the UK MFL curriculum up to A-Level. I have enjoyed teaching MFL to secondary pupils, sharing my knowledge and insight of different cultures and giving students the resilience and confidence needed to be a successful linguist.
Having lived in both Spain and France, I have a deep understanding of the cultures that surround the language, which I love sharing with my pupils. This makes learning the language more relevant and exciting as it gives you a view of what it is like to use the languages you have learned in a day-to-day setting. Culture also helps to understand why languages are the way they are and turns an otherwise challenging and highly academic subject into a fun and engaging way of communicating with new people and places.
I am an approachable, understanding and supportive individual tutor and will put you at ease in lessons. I love to learn what individuals want out of their language learning and how I can best support them to achieve their goals.

About the lesson

I will deliver personalised lessons to stretch and challenge students of all abilities. Working across all 4 skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) we will work together on improving both expression and comprehension of Spanish or French through relevant cultural themes.
Depending on your starting level, we can start from the basics of understanding phonetics, conversational language through to understanding literary texts or translating passages into the target language.
With a passion for the subject and a deep understanding of how students learn, together we will work towards building confidence with languages and improving accuracy. This will be done through games and activities, repetition and practise, independent work, acting on feedback and giving you the tools to improve your own work. Learn with me and you will gain the understanding and skills you need to be an independent linguist with the confidence to show off what you know either in education or when visiting the country.
