About Denis

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher currently teaching in Dublin, but my journey into education took me all across the Spanish-speaking world. I completed my Bachelor of Education degree in Santander, Spain, and went on to gain hands-on teaching experience in both Spanish public and concertado (semi-private) schools. After that, I spent a couple of years teaching at the British International School in Barranquilla, Colombia. Simply put, teaching isn't just my career, it is hands, down my absolute favourite thing to do.

Now that I'm back home, I love bringing those ten years of rich international experience into my lessons. I'm really keen to help students in the local Dublin area get a proper introduction to Spanish, build up their confidence, and enjoy learning the language. Whether your child is just starting out or preparing for exams, I aim to make every class approachable, effective, and tailored to their needs.

About the lesson

Having lived, studied, and taught in Spain and Colombia for ten years before moving back home to Dublin, my way of teaching blends real-deal Spanish with what secondary students actually need for school. As a qualified primary teacher who did my degree in Spain, I bring proper, authentic language into every class, helping young learners get off to a flying start with solid grammar, practical vocab, and easy chat.

A big focus for me is helping students nail their Junior Cert Spanish. Drawing on years of experience teaching young Irish learners, I break down the tricky grammar into plain, simple steps. We cover reading, writing, and speaking together so your teenager feels relaxed, fully prepared, and ready for top marks come exam time.

My classes run for 45 minutes—the sweet spot for keeping things sharp and lively. Every lesson is shaped around what suits the student best, whether they need a head-down exam prep session or a lighter, fun, and interactive class.
