About Leire

My name is Leire Froufe Vigara and I am from Madrid, Spain. I am currently 24 years old and I am studying at Fontys University in Tilburg, Holland.

I have always been a very enthusiastic learner and a strong believer in education! Since I was young, I was a hungry reader and did as many things as I could. I still am like this. There was no subject I did not enjoy (I must admit biology was on the line for me) and after a lot of doubt I decided to study Aerospace Systems Engineering. I feel like I could have enjoyed almost any degree, but there is surely something about designing rockets and satellites that was thrilling to me. I obtained a first on my M.Eng. (Masters in Engineering) on Aerospace Systems Engineering at the University of Glasgow (Scotland, UK) and during those five years I had the pleasure of doing an exchange at one of the top 5 engineering schools in the world: the National University of Singapore. I was also fortunate to do a six month work placement at Airbus Defence and Space Stevenage, UK), where I returned after graduating as a full time employee.

Working for Airbus on the Future Programs department was one of the most enriching experiences of my life. My job and my departments role was to do the initial design of satellites proposed by the european Space Agency. It required a lot of problem solving, critical thinking and team working. It was a magical experience and I cannot wait to see those satellites flying through space one day.

I took a turn on my life last year and decided to dedicate more of my time to my other passion: circus. I studied one year of circus school in Oporto and learnt Portuguese to an B2 level meanwhile. Now I am in a University in Holland getting my degree in circus, a very different one indeed, but it is so much fun to be a student again!

I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals and I love to motivate people to follow their dreams and passions. As a university student I was already working for the University of Glasgow as a tutor for younger students in subjects like Aerodynamics, Mathematics, Electromagnetics and other subjects. I have also done summer volunteering teaching programs in Malawi and worked as a summer teacher in Switzerland. I would love to continue to make a positive impact in the life of younger students and hopefully give them a boost to achieve their full potential.

About the lesson

I am a very adaptable teacher that wants mainly to nurture a safe fun environment to learn. I believe in learning through practice, more than through theory, so I think of a lot of progressions and exercises. I am happy to adapt to the need of any student and their goals, so definitively talk to me about what you want! My lessons can vary in between half an hour to two hours.
