About Valerie
I enjoy helping people understand things that they may initially find difficult. I find it rewarding to see a student become more confident when something finally clicks, and I like being able to adapt my explanations to suit different ways of learning. Teaching also gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge while developing my own communication and interpersonal skills.

I use a friendly, patient and personalised approach, adapting each lesson to the student's level and goals. I focus on clear explanations, examples and guided practice, encouraging students to work things out themselves and build confidence.
Lessons are typically 1 hour, but I can be flexible depending on the student's age and needs.
I have experience tutoring a younger student and can help with English, Portuguese, Biology, basic Maths, homework and study support. My lessons are mainly aimed at primary and lower-secondary students, as well as beginners learning English or Portuguese.
