About Mia
Hi I’m Mia and I’m a GCSE and KS3 maths, biology and chemistry tutor. I’ve been tutoring for 18 months and I’m flexible with timings and offer lessons online (via googlemeet).
I’ve recently completed my A levels, with 4 A*s in maths, further maths, biology and chemistry at Kings College School. I’m starting my medicine degree this October.
Outside of tutoring I enjoy baking, pilates and netball. I also volunteer with children with chronic health conditions, which I enjoy and find incredibly rewarding.
I love tutoring and want to help my students achieve the grades I know they’re capable of! I aim to make lessons engaging and tailored to each student, whether that means building confidence, tackling tricky topics or doing exam-specific practice.
I am also Enhanced DBS checked.

The best lessons are the ones students leave feeling more confident than when they started.
My lessons are supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. Whether the goal is building confidence, focusing on difficult topics or working towards a particular grade, I am happy to adapt and create a personalised plan so that my students can achieve the results they are capable of!
I like to make lessons interactive rather than simply talking through content. For me it’s super important that students understand why and how something works - this is so much more valuable than simply memorising information! I encourage my students to think out loud and you can expect plenty of diagrams, videos and worked examples to make tricky concepts more accessible.
A typical lesson will consist of a quick recap of previous topics and the main focus of the session. I’ll start by explaining concepts clearly and then work through examples together. Later, I give students the opportunity to apply what they’ve learnt independently, supporting as required. We’ll finish by reviewing any areas that still need work and identifying what to focus on next.
I also regularly give my students homework to keep practising what they’ve learnt.
For GCSE students, I make sure to focus on exam technique, past-paper questions and strategies for approaching unfamiliar questions. I want my students to feel confident and prepared when applying their knowledge under exam conditions.
Lessons are online via Google Meet, and I will adapt the pace and structure depending on what works best for you!
Recommendations
Recommendations are written by the tutor's friends, family, and acquaintances.
Mia started teaching my daughter when she was in her final year of GCSE's. She taught her chemistry. She was very reliable and structured in her approach. Mia was patient and kind, and took time to explain things properly. She set and marked homework too. We found her to be an amazing tutor and my daughter's grades improved significantly. I would highly recommend her to anyone else looking for a good tutor for science.
Mia is an incredible tutor who has really helped build my confidence during biology GCSEs! Would definitely recommend her sessions, 5 stars

Mia is an excellent tutor; she helped me gain so much confidence in my written answers and her guidance on exam technique is second to none! She helped me achieve grades I never thought I could get, and I will always recommend her as a tutor :)
She tutored my younger cousin in maths and he really enjoyed it with her - she resonates with everyone of all ages and she’s one of the smartest people I know.
