About Angelica
Throughout my schooling I remember going from struggling to flourishing academically when the teachers started to care about me as a person and what learnings styles worked best for me. By 6th form I felt deeply rewarded by lessons that enabled me to discuss topics and think laterally with my teachers and I want my teaching to allow students to gain this same enjoyment.
Having unlocked a passion for learning, I went on to study at Cambridge for a psychology degree and then undertook a Masters at St Andrews. Throughout this time I was a Gateway Adviser, guiding the younger students in their studies including revision methods, essay structuring and writing style.
Following university alongside my professional job I have tutored all ages from 11+ kids to people needing support with their undergraduate dissertation.

My teaching approach focuses on using discussion and critical thinking to get to an answer rather than stating facts. I like to create a collaborative approach to learning where the student and I work together to develop English language skills. This approach is based on the Cambridge tuition model, and I have spent the last 5 years helping student raise their grades and skills with this discursive approach.
Typically the lessons are an hour-1.5hours depending on the age and level.
I teach all levels, from 7 year olds doing comprehensions for the first time, to GCSE literature studies and university Entrance exams.
