About Max

Hi everyone, I’m Max, and my passion lies in helping students to grow and expand their horizons through enjoyable and tailored learning.
After graduating with a 1st in BA (Hons) English & Creative Writing in 2019, I qualified as a teacher in 2021, and have since gained 5+ years' experience teaching English Literature and English Language at both A level and GCSE. I have taught key curriculum texts such as A Streetcar Named Desire, Othello, Frankenstein, Romantic poetry and more. I am active in my field and currently studying a MA in Literary Studies at the University of Exeter.
I am DBS checked, liability insured and PGCE qualified.

About the lesson

My tuition is tailored to the student, and can be skills-based, content-based, or a mixture of both. I will work with you to establish what you love about English, what you find enjoyable and what you find more challenging. We will create a tailored plan and every session will consist of fun and challenging exercises built to suit your needs. Our sessions can also be as light touch as you want them to be; if you are simply looking to practise some exam questions or improve your academic writing with a supportive and friendly person, you're in the right place!

Tuition with me includes:
A free, no strings attached consultation before commitment
A strengths-based approach
Creative & fun learning
Bespoke resources & learning materials
Tailored marking & feedback
Empowerment & unconditional support
An AI-free approach based on integrity, creativity & critical thinking
