About Justine

I am Justine C. Ryan, and I am a recent graduate from the MFA Acting program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have taught college students to little humans in theater. I believe theater is a space for all and a space everyone can feel safe to create and be weird if they please. I have appeared on TV, films, and the stage. I am also a singer and have experience with musicals and singing in a band. Performing is a passion of mine, and I love to do it while helping others find their love (or like) for it.

About the lesson

I am here for everyone who wants to learn. No matter the level you are on when we meet or if you are scared to speak in front of people, the lessons will start with you, the artist, and where you are, and build from there. I approach teaching/coaching with goal setting (made by you) or needs, and use them as the landmarks for your session(s). I am honest, but I do not subscribe to the toxic teaching styles or breaking a person down to build them up. I believe you have everything you need, and it's my job to help you see that you hold multitudes.

A benefit to having me as a teacher/coach is that I have 7+ years of professional acting experience and am currently in the acting industry and not separated from it, and what's happening.

A typical lesson with me is:

-Warm-up: A quick warm-up or game. This will be vocal, physical, and mental.
-Intro of Lesson: An Introduction or review of the previous lesson
-Goals: Make them or review the goals for this lesson
- The lesson: This could be a conversation or a quick presentation.
-Implementation: Then we will implement the lesson into a piece of what you are working on.
-Closing: Cool down and end the session

I am here to assist all! Whether you are preparing for an audition, a presentation, working on stage fright (public Speaking), or simply a novice and want a space to geek out, I want you to shine and feel comfortable with being you, even if you are a little weird.
