About Omer

I am a dedicated and highly experienced tutor currently studying French and German at UCL, with over 200 hours of one-to-one teaching experience. I specialise in 11+ preparation (Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning) as well as French from beginner to intermediate level, and I take pride in helping my students grow in confidence as their skills develop. Having moved to the UK at the age of 9 and transitioned into the British education system in Year 6, I understand first-hand the challenges students face when adapting to demanding academic environments. Despite this, I gained offers from leading schools including King’s College, Hampton School, Kingston Grammar and Reed’s School, receiving a 25% academic scholarship. At Hampton School, I achieved 10 grade 9s at GCSE (placing me in the top 0.2% nationally) and 3 As at A Level in French, German, and Government & Politics. Beyond academic results, I bring energy, approachability, and a love for learning to every lesson. As School Captain, Founder and Chair of my school's Politics Society (Hampton PolEx), and Editor of the School Sports Magazine, I learned how to motivate others, explain ideas clearly, and support students with different personalities and learning styles. I have helped students secure places at top selective schools and am familiar with all major 11+ exam boards (GL, CEM, ISEB), as well as interview preparation. I work exclusively online, ensuring lessons are well-organised, focused, and efficient, and I adapt my approach to suit each learner, including students who are neurodivergent. Above all, I aim to create a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, motivated to improve, and proud of their progress.

About the lesson

Teaching Approach I take a student-centred approach, placing each learner’s individual needs at the core of every lesson. I begin by identifying areas of difficulty, then work through these step-by-step using clear explanations, guided practice, and targeted questioning. I actively encourage discussion to build confidence and deeper understanding, and I balance structured in-lesson exercises with meaningful homework so that progress is both measurable and long-lasting. I adapt my methods where necessary and have experience working with neurodivergent students, tailoring lessons to suit different learning styles. Typical Length of a Lesson Lessons are typically 60 minutes, allowing sufficient time for explanation, practice, and feedback, though I am flexible depending on the student’s needs and goals. Qualifications and Experience I am an undergraduate student at UCL studying French and German, with over 200 hours of tutoring experience. I have extensive experience with GL, CEM, and ISEB exam boards and provide interview preparation. Who the Lessons Are For My lessons are suited to: 11+ candidates (Maths, English, VR, NVR) I have successfully supported students gaining places at top schools including Hampton School, King’s College, Kingston Grammar, Reading Grammar, Sutton Grammar, and Reed’s School. I currently tutor online, with in-person tutoring available by discussion.
