About Sophie
I am a freelance theatre director with several years worth of professional experience working in the West End and at venues around the UK. I have recently finished working as Assistant Director to Sean Mathias on Theatre Royal Windsor's productions of Hamlet and The Cherry Orchard, starring Ian McKellen in the title role.
I have gained experience directing students and delivering workshops at prestigious drama schools and secondary schools and can tailor my work to all ages.
I have a calm, supportive and empathetic directing style and am able to bring out the best in the student and develop their abilities.
Trained at the University of Leeds - English Literature & Theatre Studies

I offer individual private acting coaching sessions to help students develop skills, prepare for auditions and gain confidence in approaches to texts and delivery. Sessions are offered online via Zoom.
I tailor each session to the needs of the student, but areas of specialisation include:

Breaking down a monologue
Improvisation
Self-taping technique and how to approach online auditions.
