About Daanyaal
I am a Doctoral student at Imperial College London. I am studying medicine (medical doctor) but also studying bioengineering. I have taught students for over 8 years now and have taught over 100 students of all ages and levels. I currently teach at Imperial College London as a graduate teaching assistant, guiding students through the undergraduate Bioengineering course. I have brought past students' grades up from Us and Es at A level to As and A*s in 6 months. This can be done so long as students are willing to invest time and understand what the exam board's objectives are. I teach because I love seeing people learn and grow. Knowledge is power and beauty. My own mother taught me and the experience we had was invaluable and allowed me to achieve so much.

Lesson structure is important to teaching. It ensures that students and teachers understand what objectives must be completed and how this will be done - I outline the optimal lesson structure below for maximised student performance: 1) The student does homework independently beforehand - maximising student contact with work, reducing student distress as they become habituated to exam content. 2) The student and tutor work through errors in homework - this ensures active engagement and correction of mistakes with tutor's expert guidance. 3) The student attempts work semi-independently experimenting with strategies and skills in lesson, allowing for guided development 4) The student, parent and tutor review progress, determining whether identified weaknesses have been addressed and learning objectives of lesson have been met. E.g. Students will do a mock paper before lesson. We go through the paper together, marking each question discussing why the student was able to answer some questions correctly and why they may have got something else wrong. Students will then spend the remainder of the lesson covering a question set (either a custom set or sections of mock papers) honing a particular skill they are weak in.

I have known Daanyaal for three years at Imperial College, where he is studying medicine. Daanyaal is talented at explaining difficult concepts in a clear and concise manner. Despite not having studied biology or chemistry post GCSE myself, Daanyaal routinely explains ideas and concepts he is currently studying in his medical degree in a manner I can easily understand. He is able to recognise when I do not have the necessary background to fully grasp the subject, and brings me up to speed quickly to ensure a complete understanding of the topic at hand.
Daanyaal is professional and responsible. I am sure he will be an excellent tutor.Daanyaal is a very easy to understand tutor who breaks down and simplifies topics that look painful at first glance. Daunting questions felt as though they had automatically become easier once each part was broken down to me into simple steps, that could be memorised as a default format for all similar questions. As a tutor, Daanyaal is very effective at explaining problems line-by-line to what exactly they are asking for, as well as how to approach them efficiently and effectively, which would ultimately save time and avoid wasted efforts during an assessment.
Daanyaal is a great tutor who is engaging with his students and incredibly knowledgeable. He makes learning enjoyable whilst tailoring it to each child
I have worked with Daanyaal for over three years now in the tutoring industry. He is extremely patient and ensures that the student reaches their full potential. He explains biological processes in the simplest of manners such that anyone is able to understand them and has a wealth of knowledge around biology, particularly where he is a medical student.
Daanyaal ensures that the student fully understands the topic in sufficient detail before he ends the lesson and I cannot recommend him enough for Biology A-Level and the GCSE Sciences.See more recommendations
