About Katie
I have been a peer tutor while in junior high and high school. I have been a substitute teacher for grades K-12 for two years. I have been an in-home nanny and tutor for four years. I've also tutored my nieces and nephews (from kindergarten to College Freshmen) and quite a few adults along the way.
Students need explanations, not someone being condescending. I have a lot of patience and an interesting sense of humor, but my goal is to help students understand what they are having trouble with and to be able to do it on their own.

I don't have typical lesson plans. Basically I want you to ask for help and I will be here to explain most things. I will not make things up, if I don't know something I will tell you but then we can learn about it together.
English tutoring: A.P. classes, most classic literature, learning to read, cursive writing, essay writing basics (I can't pick your subject for your but I can help you stay ON subject and increase flow), poetry, creative writing
Math tutoring: up to PreCalculus levels but my favorites are algebra and geometry. Fractions, decimals, and beginners math available as well.
Science tutoring: basic chemistry, biology, zoology - mainly high school levels and lower.
